PROJECTS

TIMES PAST

Times Past is a historical analysis engine which has just had a breakthrough and now can boast a prototype that has some functionality. This is in active development so expect to see details on its progress here. There is a facebook page which and a github which is outdated. I will probably use the github mostly going forward.

The mission statement is to create, as a community, a free and open source application that graphically depicts historical information for the purpose of rapid analysis. The aim is to have a map or other display with an overarching time line incorporating the span of earth’s history. This time line can incorporate user defined graphically plotted sub time lines that track the consequences of an event or the progress of an entity such as a person or an object (e.g. a ship or a sacred relic) through both time and space (location). To use currently available knowledge bases, data sets and software such as wikipedia and open street maps.

THE GUERILLA GUIDE TO MUSIC TECHNOLOGY

Using Linux for pro audio can be rewarding but it like everything has a learning curve. I have been using the audio tools in Linux for years, in fact Ardour (an open source music production platform called a DAW) is a major reason I chose Linux systems over others. So then the Guerilla Guide to Music Technology is a resource I am creating over time that has already been useful to people all over the world trying to make music while maintaining their freedom and their budget.
